Christmas Table Decor (White and Yellow)

Move over red and green…

White and yellow are taking center stage for this Christmas decor DIY.

So I decided I wanted to challenge myself and do exactly what I did for my fall centerpiece. I made use of a few of my summer flowers to complete that centerpiece and (I think) it worked out pretty good.

But I was kind of stuck. I only had pink and yellow flowers to pick from.

Not exactly the traditional Christmas colors I’m used to.

But, I managed to figure something out.

I decided I would only make use of a few of the yellow flowers and combine them with white poinsettias that I found at the dollar store.

Ok let’s see how it turned out!

Here we go…

Here’s what I used:

Faux poinsettia flowers from the dollar store (I used a total of 3 bunches that had about 4 flowers each)

Clear vase (I’m using a total of 3 vases, all of different heights)

Yellow ribbon

white ribbon

Faux yellow flowers (also from the dollar store)

Scissors and tape

Here’s what I did:

I started by cutting out a piece of yellow ribbon long enough to wrap around my vase.

I started wrapping the ribbon around the vase and then placed a piece of tape here…

And there…

(I placed my tape horizontally so that I can cover it easily in the next step with my white ribbon)

I repeated this step for two more vases.

Then I cut a piece of white ribbon long enough to wrap around the vase and again used tape to attach the ribbon, this time over the yellow ribbon.

Next I looped another piece of tape (you can also use double-sided tape) and placed it next to the white ribbon.

And pressed down the other end of my white ribbon onto that looped tape. (So the piece of tape is under the white ribbon)

Placing the looped piece of tape under the white ribbon works great because you won’t see any tape like that.

Now I can start placing my flowers.

I’m using 3-4 poinsettias in each vase.

FYI: I bent each stem right below the poinsettia before dropping it in so it sits nicely in the vase

As for a few of those flowers I had from my summer centerpieces…

I dropped them right in the middle of the poinsettias and…

There you have it!
