I’ve slowly been transitioning from summer to fall decor for about a month now. By slowly, I mean I’ve been moving veeery slow!
I always have a hard time switching from one season to another. I’ve probably already mentioned this but, I never want to let go of the season we are in and all the beauty it has to offer!
Summer brings on so many beautiful bright colors, gorgeous sunny days, fun beach trips, turquoise jewelry (so perfect for summer) oh, and of course ice cream!
But then there’s fall. Oh fall!! It comes with a rainbow of colorful leaves.
Mustard yellow, warm wine, pumpkin orange, and comforting caramel colors…
It’s magical!
How could I not want to hold on to that for as long as I could 🙂
So it’s either I hold on to my ice cream cravings a little while longer or move on to collecting colorful leaves at the park.
A true dilemma.
Do you feel the same way? Is there any time of the year you have a hard time letting go off?
So for the most part my home always has a mix of seasonal decorations whenever I’m switching them out and this time around I thought it would be nice to take pictures of the areas that are slowly transitioning into fall and share them here with you.
The changes are mostly simple and subtle as of now. Bringing out old fall decorations, exploring with a few new finds here and there but hopefully things will fully come together soon!
I cant wait to share the finished look once I’m done.
Transitioning to Fall Decor
A white and brown acorn meets a floral vase that I had out for summer.
I placed a few ivory flowers here on our TV counsel. Now, I know these flowers are not traditional fall decorations but there’s something about the ivory mixed with the red and yellow that makes me feel like they work for fall.
I’m not sure what I will end up doing with this spot but for now this works perfectly!
A basket full of pumpkins sits on my floor waiting for a more permanent spot.
Who ever said stickers were just for kids! Here I used three apple stickers to decorate in my kitchen. Then I finished the frame with a few layers of handmade bows that I glued on.
My table is a magnet for unfinished projects.
Here sits a simple wreath that I’ve been working on for far too long and colorful berries that I admire everyday and wonder what I might do with them.
The simple things are truly the best!
A salt shaker with a few sprigs of foliage that me and my daughter picked up before the summer started.
Ok friends, that’s it for this one…I hope you enjoyed it and were inspired to put some fall decorations up in your home too!
Sending happy, safe, and healthy vibes your way. May God bless you and your family today and every beautiful day to come!
Hello my friends, this is a continuation of my last blog post “Living Room Fall Decor.”
Normally, I would try to combine everything I make for seasonal decorations into one blog post.
But this time around, it was as if something hit me over the head and turned the light bulb on….
Separate everything into different rooms/categories.
face/palm moment
So I decided to separate the living room and kitchen decorations into separate blog posts, but…
old habits are hard to break.
So I ended up adding in a few extra simple decorations that I have scattered in other areas of our home.
So without further ado…
Kitchen Fall Decor (and a few extras)
I made a simple drawing of yellow leaves on cardstock and placed it on a clear command hook on our countertop.
(I started with a pencil, filled the leaves in with a yellow color pencil, and with a hole punch I added some twine for hanging)
Small Cardboard squares wrapped in pretty napkins (above and below)….finished with pumpkin stickers (the kid in me)
Yep, that’s my reflection on the side of the fridge, in case you were wondering 😉
Something pretty to look at by the stove while I cook.
A single acorn in a champagne glass (I promise I’m not fancy at all, I had to ask my husband what type of glass I was using)
And a couple of acorns hanging out with a few small twigs of hydrangeas and white peonies in a pretty shot glass.
Both photos with the acorns are decorating our kitchen hutch. You can see a better picture of the hutch here
A blue candle…
wrapped with some twine and faux floral petals.
Pumpkins and glittery tinsel decorating my daughter’s room.
Here I took an old Dollar Store pumpkin and added iridescent glitter glue to the creases.
A gold sequenced pumpkin with a few pearls, silver and gold beads, and a white faux flower all hot glued together.
A very simple fall bathroom decoration. Two black and white buffalo pumpkins.
I have to admit guys…
This photo is an impostor.
I wish I could tell you that it always looks this neat but that wall cabinet seems to always attract all sorts of stuff. Hair brushes, lotion bottles, makeup and all sorts of cute toddler hair accessories.
Please tell me your bathroom works the same as mine.
ok, that’s it…hope you enjoyed this!
Thanks for stopping by.

Fall is such a beautiful time of year. The colorful leaves, the rainbow of mums, that slight chill in the air.
And those falling acorns, that I find myself trying to dodge every time I step outside. (haven’t been hit by one yet)
How can you not love it.
It’s the perfect time of year to admire our God’s creations.
Today I’m sharing all of the fall decorations that I have scattered around my living room. It’s a combination of a few simple DIY’s using faux flowers, faux fall leaves, twine as well as a few real pumpkins and some decorative store bought items.
As always, most of the items I am using came from local Dollar stores, Target as well as items I already had on hand.
I was interested in just about anything that was related to the world of arts and crafts….
Drawing, beads, decorating, pretty much anything to do with crafting.
But, as I got older, I slowly stopped many of those hobbies.
This blog has really helped me get back to my love of crafting.
So I took a chance at drawing again and decided to focus my doodling on something fall related.
In came the pumpkins idea…
I decided I wanted to have one pumpkin framed on the wall. Honestly, this idea started from a few innocent pumpkin stickers. I came up with an idea to frame some stickers that I had, but that didn’t work out quite how I wanted, so I figured why not draw my own pumpkins.
It took some time practicing, but eventually, I got it.
ok, let’s get started…
DIY Pumpkin Drawing Wall Decor
Supplies:
Cardstock (Rite Aid and Staples)
Scrapbook/craft paper (light blue and beige. I’ve had these for years. Probably purchased at Michaels)
Silver Stickers (Also something I have had for a few years)
Scissors, Sharpie fine point marker, pencil, ruler, and tape
As for the frames, I ended up using a couple of old frames that I already had on hand.
As I mentioned earlier, I practiced a number of times how to draw a pumpkin. Eventually, I decided to keep them very simple, as you see below.
I drew 4 pumpkins for each frame used, each one a different size. I then cut them out along with eight small green stems.
Then I finished with a few black lines using my sharpie marker and lastly attaching the stems onto the back of the pumpkins with my tape.
I later taped the pumpkins onto my white card stock.
Then I called for my husband’s help…
I’m kind of…No, I’m really horrible with numbers…and fractions…and anything to do with math. But I needed to find the center of my page so that I can easily center my pumpkins and stickers. Easy, right? Nope…
My frame had uneven measurements that made it hard for me to find my center point. So I got some help from my husband, who is much better at math, and science, and remembering really unnecessary/silly facts. Within minutes he had my center point and where I should start placing everything.
Now I have two adorable pumpkin frames to bring some fall joy into my home for the season.
Thanks for stopping by!

I started by picking out my colors. I love color! And I almost always end up with a mix of different colors when I’m decorating. So for these fall decorations, I decided to use three classic fall colors. Red, yellow, and orange but I also included some blue as well.
Then I brought in the two usual items I love to decorate with. Faux flowers and ribbon.
I added in a few classic items like pumpkins and pine cones and brought that all together with a few new items as well as items I already had at home to create these 9 simple decor items I’ll be sharing with you now.
ok, let’s get started…
9 Simple Fall Decor Ideas
For this first one, I used a white candle, a small glass cup from the dollar store, yellow ribbon, red checkered ribbon, and a few sprigs of small leaves that I pulled off of an old faux plant.
I started by securing my yellow ribbon with some scotch tape here…
then finished wrapping it around my glass and secured it again with more tape.
I finished by tying a bow with my checkered red ribbon over the yellow ribbon then tucking my small sprigs into the red ribbon. Then in goes my candle to the glass cup.
For my next one, I filled a cylinder vase with mini pumpkins then wrapped green ribbon around my vase, securing it with tape.
Then I finished off with some Dollar Tree orange/gold ribbon that I picked up a couple of years ago for this fall centerpiece.
It doesn’t get any more simple than this next one!
I used a recycled old jar, filled it with a couple of old mini pumpkins and some pine cones then wrapped my checkered red ribbon finishing off with a simple bow around the front.
Now I’m using three blue faux flowers that I picked up over the summer at my local dollar store…
and added them to a blue vase that I found at the Christmas Tree Shop, then finished with jute twine tied to my vase.
Here I used three red faux poppy flowers from Walmart, another old jar and then I wrapped my jar with three different ribbons…
To create a simple wreath, I used a small paper plate, cut the center out with a craft knife…
wrapped burlap around my paper plate and secured it with hot glue…
hot glued a few faux leaves, one sunflower pulled off its stem, and a few red berries to complete this simple wreath.
Please excuse me while I ramble a bit. I’m always amazed at how many times I’m able to reuse my faux flowers. I’ve used that sunflower you see on the wreath over and over again since picking it up a few years ago at the Dollar Tree. It started off as a couple of bunches of sunflowers but since then I’ve taken it apart many times and created a number of different pieces with them.
I’ve actually used many of the items you see today in a number of different posts throughout this blog. Those eucalyptus leaves you’ll see down below were used last year for fall decor. My single sunflower on my wreath has made a presentation for spring, fall, and who knows how many other times! My two yellow flowers accompanying that large red rose down below have also appeared a few different times.
As for those fun white chrysanthemums a few photos down, they made their debut right here. Even those sweet little red berries up top popped up to say hello here.
Anyway, I always love seeing how many times I can use these beautiful flowers and thought it would be fun to share with you as well.
This next one may just be my favorite.
I’m using another glass cup just like the one I used for my white candle, burlap, orange twine, a large faux yellow peony from the dollar store, and a bunch of eucalyptus leaves.
I cut a few stems of leaves off of that bunch of leaves, then combined them with my yellow faux flower.
And wrapped my cup with burlap and orange twine…
Now I’m using pine cones, a glass vase, glitter red ribbon, a red rose, yellow faux flowers, and faux leaves…
All of that comes together in my vase, finishing off with a simple red sparkly bow.
(Red rose from Walmart. I picked up the yellow flowers about a year ago at Michaels)
But I usually use them as small pops of color scattered throughout my home to brighten up everything else that is actually pretty neutral.
Most of our furniture is either dark brown or white. Our walls are colors like soft blue for our bedroom and a very light sage green for our living room.
So basically, there’s a special place in my heart for neutral colors as well.
I really like to keep larger pieces or areas in my home in neutral colors that way I can have a little more fun with the smaller pieces that are constantly changing, like the floral arrangements I always share on this blog.
Since the fall season started I’ve been slowly bringing together both new and old items to decorate. I’ve already shared a few centerpieces that I’m keeping in my living area, kitchen, and bedroom but today I wanted to focus on a few other random areas.
Everything is pretty simple and easy to bring together with basic items and many of the colors are neutral with the exception of a few brighter colors like that green bow you will see below.
Ok here we go…
Simple Fall Decor With a Few Neutral Colors
White, Black, Gray, and Bronze
This may be the simplest of the group…
I’m combining a few black and white pumpkins on our TV stand along with some random photo albums and magazines (keeping the pretty gray one on top). Then finish off with a couple of gray and white birds, that are constantly being moved around my home from season to season 🙂
I then added a little bronze pumpkin to go with the brown in that white and black pumpkin.
What are your thoughts on metallics? Can they be considered neutral?
I debated this one a bit even after briefly reading a few random articles online (all agreeing on metallics working as neutrals).
I remember during my teens and all throughout my 20s that I would never mix metals. If I was wearing a silver bracelet, I had to wear a silver necklace and silver earrings. If gold was the pick of the day it had to be paired with other gold pieces, no exception (I was very serious about potential fashion boo boo’s those days )
Now it’s a completely different story. I love mixing metals like gold and silver bracelets or even silver and rose gold pieces seem to work nicely together.
So I guess I have to agree that metallics can work as a neutral. (That was a highly scientific process I just followed for my conclusion)
Bronze and copper work as a shade of brown, silver as a shade of gray, gold I would say works as yellow or beige tones.
Brown, Sage, and Silver
Right next to that, I placed a bunch of eucalyptus leaves into a silver vase (I would probably keep this out all year long!)
Then, a couple of beer bottles filled with white hydrangeas from the Dollar store and an old pumpkin I’ve had for years.
Then I simply took a couple of throws we always keep on our couch and dropped those into a dark brown container from the Dollar Tree.
On the other side of our TV stand, I placed three vases that I filled with more eucalyptus leaves and then topped off with a few white pumpkins.
Those leaves were actually part of a garland that I ordered from Amazon about a year ago. I’m adding a link to them but in all honesty guys, I wasn’t crazy about them at first and even considered returning them. The leaves up close were not the most attractive and the garland was kind of stiff. I ended up keeping it thinking I may be able to eventually make use of it and surprisingly, it worked out perfectly for this. I cut down a few sections to fit my vases and now, I’m loving them!
Amber and Gold
That green may not be considered a neutral (although it worked great with multiple colors here) but I think the amber-brown shades in those leaves can absolutely fall into the category of neutrals.
I can see this color pairing beautifully with different shades of gray, navy blue, sky blue, blush pink, and green as you see below…
Here’s what I did to make this wreath:
I cut the center out of a small paper plate.
Then I took some fall leaves that I used in last year’s fall centerpiece, cut them off of their stem, and glued them onto the paper plate.
I would recommend using a glue gun if you have one for the leaves but I was experimenting with a couple of new glues that I had on hand (Dollar store glue and Aleene’s fabric fusion) just to see how they would work. As you can see below, I had to hold them in place with these clothespins for a few hours while everything dried. It worked out fine but a glue gun would have been much faster.
Then I looped a piece of ribbon around the wreath and made a couple of knots
and secured a bow onto that piece of ribbon with a safety pin
and into our kitchen it goes!
A gold pumpkin lands on my toaster oven along with another orange toned pumpkin, and it’s the perfect compliment to my amber toned wreath!
Now for a few extra’s that may not necessarily be considered neutral colors.
I added these in because I find that they are colors that are always easy to work with any time of the year.
Yellow never seems to fail me when I use it as a small centerpiece. I’ve used it for Xmas, fall, Easter and many other times throughout my home.
Yellow and blue…yellow and gray….yellow and pink…it’s all beautiful!
A few round yellow flowers (from Walmart) and one white sunflower (ikea) placed off to the side go into a simple vase.
then finish off this area behind my couch with a picture frame that I put together using gold and silver letter stickers (that’s the kid in me coming out ?), chalkboard labels, and a few flower embellishments from Michaels, and I’m done!

It’s simple to put together and most of the items I’m using are things I already have at home.
It started with these sweet little pears.
I picked them up probably when fall first started. I had just bought some pear juice thinking it would be a nice way to start enjoying the new season.
I usually tend to crave iced apple cider when fall kicks in but this time around, the pears were calling me.
I knew I had to find some pears to decorate my kitchen and luckily, my local dollar store just so happened to have a few. Yay!
They were kind of funny looking at first, I have to admit.
That (almost) way too bright green color and some leaves that were slightly beat up made me wonder if I would be able to do anything with them, but they still caught my eye and I couldn’t pass them up.
They were coming home with me.
I scattered them on my table along with a few simple faux flowers, a couple of jars, an old-ish vase, and then brought that all together with a plaid green kitchen towel that I found on amazon.
Don’t you just love plaid for fall!
ok let’s get started…
Fall Kitchen Table Decor – Pears and Plaid Green
First, I’m using the same two roses that I also used over the summer to decorate my kitchen table (from Michaels)…
and some small rocks that me and my daughter brought home from the beach this summer…
and I’m dropping that all into these two old jars…
That I then finished off with some white ribbon around the center to go with my other fall centerpiece.
(I just held the ribbon in place with a small piece of tape around the back)
Next up, these pretty little white roses that I recently found at my local dollar store.
I’m using 3 bunches of roses that I cut down and then removed most of the leaves.
I then dropped those flowers into this old vase, another dollar store find, and finished by wrapping twine and white ribbon to complete the simple arrangement.
To keep the twine in place I just tucked the ends into the twine after wrapping it around the vase. Since the twine is slightly stiff it’s able to hold itself in place as long as you wrap it tightly.
Then I placed everything on top of this plaid green kitchen towel and finished off by scattering my dollar store pears all around the arrangements.
And that’s it!
It’s nice to know that inspiration can come from anywhere!
Even something like pear juice 😉

But I decided I wanted to change it up a bit for today. I wanted to make use of most of the flowers but arrange them in a different container.
It only took me a few minutes after brainstorming and picking out a few extra pieces I already had at home to create this new centerpiece so I decided why not share this simple and beautiful centerpiece with you!
Ok here we go guys…
Recycling my Fall Centerpiece for Thanksgiving Decor
First, I started with a plain white box.
It’s actually a box I saved from my Apple Watch a while back.
I love burlap! I use it for everything, and this centerpiece was no exception. I wrapped it around the box and made a simple double knot.
Then, to arrange the flowers, I followed most of the steps I used for my fall centerpiece.
I placed my faux hydrangeas on one side and the faux sunflowers on the other (Both from Dollar Tree).
Then I grabbed a larger sunflower that I have had forever and stuffed it in the center of all the hydrangeas (similar to how I had placed the bright pink flower in my fall centerpiece).
I grabbed just a few Dollar Tree leaves (again from my fall centerpiece) and scattered them around the bottom and back of the new centerpiece
I finished off with a few faux berries I picked up at Michaels a few years ago.
And that’s it!
ok friends, thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog!

I mentioned that I was over using pumpkins to decorate for the fall. Sure, I had a couple in my kitchen before even clicking publish for that post, but I wanted to keep it that way, just a few, for this year at least.
Then I decided that my kitchen needed more fall decorations. So I got to digging through all my old fall stuff and there they were. All the pumpkins I use year after year. They were screaming for me to use them.
I debated for a bit and wondered…
Would I be wrong for using pumpkins to decorate after clearly saying that I wouldn’t, will everyone that read my last post demand a refund of their time after finding out that I clearly didn’t stick to what I said I would (or wouldn’t) do?
Then I said to myself…it’s not that serious Sindy!
We’re just talking about a few extra sweet pumpkins here after all.
So I got to decorating and as usual, I made use of a few extra items I already had on hand to bring everything together.
Ok, let’s get started. It is November after all! Falls almost done and soon we’ll be talking about Christmas. Yay!
Here we go…
Simple Fall Kitchen Decor
First those pumpkins
I used a few pumpkins I had stored away to decorate my kitchen table.
I started by grabbing an old black and white kitchen towel, folded it and placed it in the center of the table.
Then I used a pickle jar I was about to toss out to hold a few mini pumpkins I found at the dollar store years ago. I washed the jar first, (of course, lol) filled it with the pumpkins…
Then I got some leftover ribbon from my last post and tied it on to the jar.
A few mixed matched pumpkins ended up scattered around the jar…
And done!
Next
A few more pumpkins…
Two bronze-colored pumpkins (a target find from a few years ago) end up on my kitchen counter top along with…
A ginormous old mug with some serving utensils and a simple faux flower from Walmart.
The two utensils with clear handles are actually from my wedding. Using a few items from my wedding really made this little area extra special and so fun to look at!
Last
I grabbed a few old flowers that I’ve had for years and dropped them into a small container.
I filled the container with a piece of burlap before dropping in the flowers.
(FYI: that small container is actually a cotton swab holder that I wasn’t using for some time. I just removed the lid to use as a small vase)
And there you have it!
A very simple kitchen fall decor…
with a bit of heartwarming memories…
and enough pumpkins…
to make me laugh every time I walk by them.
