A small container, a few white flowers (almost always faux for me and my black thumb) …
And I have a very pretty and very simple floral arrangement that I can keep out practically all year long.
Today I’m sharing an easy faux floral arrangement that I think can work for any season as simple home decor.
For my container, I’m using a small sugar bowl that I have used over and over again for decorating. It’s become a very loyal sugar bowl/flower container throughout the years 🙂 I’m pretty sure I found my “vase” at IKEA years ago, but you can find small round clear containers similar to this at the dollar store, they may not be white but clear would be beautiful too!
Then I’m using a few faux flowers from the dollar store and that’s it, no filler in the vase to keep them in place, no water, the beauty of faux, just a wire cutter to make sure they are the perfect length for my vase.
Simple Everyday Floral Arrangement
A small white sugar bowl…
Four white dollar store faux flowers…
cut down to the perfect size, and we have a simple everyday floral decoration perfect for all year decor!
And she sits on my kitchen countertop right next to my sink.
Why not have something pretty to look at while I do the dishes! 😉
Hope you enjoyed this simple everyday floral arrangement!
Thanks for stopping by.

Hello my friends, this is a continuation of my last blog post “Living Room Fall Decor.”
Normally, I would try to combine everything I make for seasonal decorations into one blog post.
But this time around, it was as if something hit me over the head and turned the light bulb on….
Separate everything into different rooms/categories.
face/palm moment
So I decided to separate the living room and kitchen decorations into separate blog posts, but…
old habits are hard to break.
So I ended up adding in a few extra simple decorations that I have scattered in other areas of our home.
So without further ado…
Kitchen Fall Decor (and a few extras)
I made a simple drawing of yellow leaves on cardstock and placed it on a clear command hook on our countertop.
(I started with a pencil, filled the leaves in with a yellow color pencil, and with a hole punch I added some twine for hanging)
Small Cardboard squares wrapped in pretty napkins (above and below)….finished with pumpkin stickers (the kid in me)
Yep, that’s my reflection on the side of the fridge, in case you were wondering 😉
Something pretty to look at by the stove while I cook.
A single acorn in a champagne glass (I promise I’m not fancy at all, I had to ask my husband what type of glass I was using)
And a couple of acorns hanging out with a few small twigs of hydrangeas and white peonies in a pretty shot glass.
Both photos with the acorns are decorating our kitchen hutch. You can see a better picture of the hutch here
A blue candle…
wrapped with some twine and faux floral petals.
Pumpkins and glittery tinsel decorating my daughter’s room.
Here I took an old Dollar Store pumpkin and added iridescent glitter glue to the creases.
A gold sequenced pumpkin with a few pearls, silver and gold beads, and a white faux flower all hot glued together.
A very simple fall bathroom decoration. Two black and white buffalo pumpkins.
I have to admit guys…
This photo is an impostor.
I wish I could tell you that it always looks this neat but that wall cabinet seems to always attract all sorts of stuff. Hair brushes, lotion bottles, makeup and all sorts of cute toddler hair accessories.
Please tell me your bathroom works the same as mine.
ok, that’s it…hope you enjoyed this!
Thanks for stopping by.

Fall is such a beautiful time of year. The colorful leaves, the rainbow of mums, that slight chill in the air.
And those falling acorns, that I find myself trying to dodge every time I step outside. (haven’t been hit by one yet)
How can you not love it.
It’s the perfect time of year to admire our God’s creations.
Today I’m sharing all of the fall decorations that I have scattered around my living room. It’s a combination of a few simple DIY’s using faux flowers, faux fall leaves, twine as well as a few real pumpkins and some decorative store bought items.
As always, most of the items I am using came from local Dollar stores, Target as well as items I already had on hand.
I started by picking out my colors. I love color! And I almost always end up with a mix of different colors when I’m decorating. So for these fall decorations, I decided to use three classic fall colors. Red, yellow, and orange but I also included some blue as well.
Then I brought in the two usual items I love to decorate with. Faux flowers and ribbon.
I added in a few classic items like pumpkins and pine cones and brought that all together with a few new items as well as items I already had at home to create these 9 simple decor items I’ll be sharing with you now.
ok, let’s get started…
9 Simple Fall Decor Ideas
For this first one, I used a white candle, a small glass cup from the dollar store, yellow ribbon, red checkered ribbon, and a few sprigs of small leaves that I pulled off of an old faux plant.
I started by securing my yellow ribbon with some scotch tape here…
then finished wrapping it around my glass and secured it again with more tape.
I finished by tying a bow with my checkered red ribbon over the yellow ribbon then tucking my small sprigs into the red ribbon. Then in goes my candle to the glass cup.
For my next one, I filled a cylinder vase with mini pumpkins then wrapped green ribbon around my vase, securing it with tape.
Then I finished off with some Dollar Tree orange/gold ribbon that I picked up a couple of years ago for this fall centerpiece.
It doesn’t get any more simple than this next one!
I used a recycled old jar, filled it with a couple of old mini pumpkins and some pine cones then wrapped my checkered red ribbon finishing off with a simple bow around the front.
Now I’m using three blue faux flowers that I picked up over the summer at my local dollar store…
and added them to a blue vase that I found at the Christmas Tree Shop, then finished with jute twine tied to my vase.
Here I used three red faux poppy flowers from Walmart, another old jar and then I wrapped my jar with three different ribbons…
To create a simple wreath, I used a small paper plate, cut the center out with a craft knife…
wrapped burlap around my paper plate and secured it with hot glue…
hot glued a few faux leaves, one sunflower pulled off its stem, and a few red berries to complete this simple wreath.
Please excuse me while I ramble a bit. I’m always amazed at how many times I’m able to reuse my faux flowers. I’ve used that sunflower you see on the wreath over and over again since picking it up a few years ago at the Dollar Tree. It started off as a couple of bunches of sunflowers but since then I’ve taken it apart many times and created a number of different pieces with them.
I’ve actually used many of the items you see today in a number of different posts throughout this blog. Those eucalyptus leaves you’ll see down below were used last year for fall decor. My single sunflower on my wreath has made a presentation for spring, fall, and who knows how many other times! My two yellow flowers accompanying that large red rose down below have also appeared a few different times.
As for those fun white chrysanthemums a few photos down, they made their debut right here. Even those sweet little red berries up top popped up to say hello here.
Anyway, I always love seeing how many times I can use these beautiful flowers and thought it would be fun to share with you as well.
This next one may just be my favorite.
I’m using another glass cup just like the one I used for my white candle, burlap, orange twine, a large faux yellow peony from the dollar store, and a bunch of eucalyptus leaves.
I cut a few stems of leaves off of that bunch of leaves, then combined them with my yellow faux flower.
And wrapped my cup with burlap and orange twine…
Now I’m using pine cones, a glass vase, glitter red ribbon, a red rose, yellow faux flowers, and faux leaves…
All of that comes together in my vase, finishing off with a simple red sparkly bow.
(Red rose from Walmart. I picked up the yellow flowers about a year ago at Michaels)
I start working on my floral arrangements and more times than not…
I reach for an old pickle jar instead of my store-bought vases.
I love them…
Beer bottles, cans, a flower pot, sugar bowls, tiny travel bottles, and even a smartwatch box. I’ve used them all!
Between the vases that I’ve picked up from actual storesand the recycled containers that I’ve saved at home, I’ve developed quite a collection.
I find these containers so easy to work with and I can’t help but wonder every time I hold an empty can of beans in my hands, what can I possibly do with this.
These three simple summer faux floral arrangements are no exception to the recycled container love. They ended up in three small jars that I wrapped with ribbon, just like many of my other simple faux floral arrangements, and then filled them with dollar store flowers and came up with three simple but very pretty summer table decorations for my home.
Let’s get started!
3 Simple Faux Floral Summer Arrangements
The first arrangement consists of:
3 stems of faux flowers, all light shades of purple…
and yellow ribbon and an old jar.
I wrapped my yellow ribbon around the jar, securing it around the back with some scotch tape…
then I took the wisteria stem and cut off a long portion of it then cut down my other two flowers to fit the jar.
And this little gal is done!
My second arrangement consists of:
3 white lilies and one stem of foliage.
White and yellow ribbon and an old jar.
I cut down my flowers to fit the jar as well as a portion of the leaves to tuck behind the white lilies and wrapped my ribbon around the jar, again securing it with scotch tape.
And this one’s ready to go!
My third arrangement consists of:
A couple of light and dark pink florals and the same stem of leaves that I used for my second arrangement.
Another old jar and white and jute ribbon.
I wrapped my ribbon, first the white ribbon, then the jute ribbon on top of the white…
then I cut off 4 short pieces off of the dark pink floral stem, a small section of the light pink cherry blossom, and a piece of what I had left from my leaves.
And my third summer faux floral arrangement is all set!
Well, that’s it for this one my friends.

Peach and white roses from my local dollar store and aqua green peonies from the Dollar Tree
And a few small white flowers
Ok here we go…
I dropped my clear marbles into the container…
Then I wrapped that pretty burlap and silver ribbon onto my container.
I secured the burlap with some scotch tape (as I do with most of my centerpieces that have ribbon) you can also use a glue gun here but I find using tape to be much faster than waiting for the glue gun to heat up.
(You can better see here how I use tape to keep my ribbon in place)
Then I dropped in one peach rose, one white rose, one aqua green peony and placed the smaller white flowers in the center of the roses and peony…
and that’s it!
Add in two more of these sweet little arrangements…
And I’m done!
Well, that’s it for this one my friends.
Thanks for stopping by!

And pink, oh that beautiful pink…if you are a girly girl like me, you just love it.
I was really drawn to lime green this year for spring.
Lime green hydrangeas to be exact!
So I knew that would be the color to focus on for my faux floral home decor arrangements.
But I usually have a hard time deciding on just one color, so I had to call in all the spring color troops. Yep, pink and yellow (with some neutral white touches) really helped bring it all together.
I put together a few simple arrangements using faux flowers, ribbon, a few Easter eggs, and a bunch of artificial limes I found at Target. I’ll probably keep them out all throughout the spring months and hope they can offer you some inspiration to bring a little spring cheer into your home too!
A few artificial limes scattered around the vase and this one is done.
I have this one sitting on our kitchen table. The lighting is not always the best there so I decided to photograph it in our living area along with everything else that you’ll see below 🙂
Yellow ribbon, burlap, and lime green curling ribbon.
I’m keeping the yellow ribbon and burlap in place with a small piece of scotch tape around the back then wrapping the green curling ribbon around and making a small bow as you see above. I show the steps, with pictures, in this post (FYI: I’ve used other inexpensive tapes in the past to hold ribbon in place but I find that scotch tape works the best for keeping everything in place)
This one is ready to go!
For my next one I’m using a few pieces of flowers that I pulled from my stash of faux flowers.
I’ve used these many times in past blog posts. You can check them out here, here, here and here.
I cut the center portion of those pink flowers off of a few other flowers I had and then hot glued it onto my pink flowers. Before doing that I used a blow dryer to open the pedals up a bit. You can also see how they originally looked in this post.
Then I’m using an old can to hold my flowers (like I did in last years spring post)
I cleaned out the can, removed the label and covered it with white printer paper using scotch tape to hold it in place around the back and then added my three ribbons.
I debated whether or not to add this next one since it’s so simple but it’s probably the one I’m looking at the most throughout the day. I have it right by my kitchen sink (I may just spend most of my day at that sink, mommy life) and I really enjoy looking at it so I figured why not throw it in.
It doesn’t get any simpler than this. I cleaned out an old spice jar and pulled off a section of one of my lime green hydrangeas then added a green sunflower I picked up years ago at Ikea then placed one lime and a sparkly white egg (from last years Easter post)
Now I’m filling a short, wide vase with a few old white and green Easter eggs (all from dollar stores, white eggs again used in last years Easter post)
Then some burlap, gold ribbon, and lime green curling ribbon to finish up.
Next up, a silver charger plate and white dinner plate, a small basket filled with artificial limes, a single faux hydrangea and this ones ready to go (who doesn’t love decorating with limes and lemons for the warmer weather!)
I found my teeny tiny basket at the Christmas Tree Shop but another item that would work in place of the basket would be a small white bowl.
I’m keeping this one in our kitchen over our toaster oven but I think this would also work for a small kitchen table or if you have a larger basket I would fill it up with a bunch of these limes and either add a few hydrangeas into the basket with the limes or scatter them around the basket.
You can make a few of these to scatter along a table or combine it with a larger one like I did here with my first arrangement.
A few old sparkly Easter eggs and a decorative white plate (also from the Christmas Tree Shop)…
accompany a handful of faux tulips and a couple of faux chrysanthemums in a vase with the same yellow ribbon, burlap and curling ribbon I used with my other arrangements.
ok friends, thanks for stopping by!

Valentine’s Day Centerpiece – Using Items I Already Have
I love faux flowers.
They take up a lot of my (very little) mommy free time.
I have to admit though, it’s a fairly new love of mine.
So I figured, what better time than Valentine’s Day to write a bit about this new (ish) love of mine…
I made a spring centerpiece a couple of years ago after taking a trip to the Dollar Tree and there they were, a bush of pretty pink roses. I couldn’t resist. Normally I’d walk right by that area full of faux flowers and never give it a second look but this time around, those roses were calling me! I didn’t hesitate to grab them and figured why not see what I can make and possibly share it on this blog…
A few days later I picked up a couple of yellow and white roses at another dollar store and after that, I eventually made what I considered to be “a unique” spring centerpiece. (Ok don’t laugh, but it was basically a bouquet on a table)
After that, I was hooked!
I originally started this blog to mainly write about my love of organizing (or semi organizing I should say) but once I made that spring centerpiece I switched my attention almost completely to faux floral centerpieces.
This “love” for faux floral centerpieces has not come naturally to me though!
I seem to always picture the finished arrangement in my head (resembling something you’d see in a magazine) but when I actually start bringing it all together, it’s usually a hot mess.
So I really have to push myself when I’m working on a new centerpiece. Many times, these centerpieces involve days of my small dining table covered with flowers, vases, and ribbon everywhere. I’ll walk by that table throughout the day and almost always feel frustrated! It’s rare when I get it right the first time I try putting something together, no matter how simple or complex I try to make them.
So why do I keep trying and even consider this something that I love? Because the finishing product always brings days if not weeks of smiles to my face! And honestly, I think there are certain little hobbies, skills, and talents that our good Lord up above has gifted us with! Hobbies that really bring us joy if we stick with them and push ourselves to learn about them. This one without a doubt is one of those!
I enjoy every piece that I manage to create and I rarely ever am in a rush to change it out whenever a new holiday or season comes around.
That’s probably why I always end up showing these centerpieces on my blog very (VERY) late compared to how early I see other blog posts or videos for seasonal decor going up. (*cough* like today’s post *cough* a few days before Valentine’s day *cough* ?)
Ok well, let me stop for now…Valentine’s day is right around the corner after all. Let me jump into sharing my simple centerpiece that came together just like many of my others have in the past, with items I already had at home.
Hope you enjoy it!
Valentine’s Day Centerpiece – Using Items I Already Have
I start with an old sugar bowl and a few stickers that I had from last years Valentine’s Day (yep, that’s the kid in me coming out to play)
(These stickers are great for something temporary like this Valentine’s Day centerpiece. They peel on and off very easily without leaving a mess behind. I actually moved them around multiple times before finishing)
Then I grabbed my flowers and a wire cutter and cut the stems down to fit my sugar bowl.
As you can probably see in the picture, I had to cut off a good amount of the stem and make the flowers pretty short. That’s because I’m working with a very small bowl.
I picked these pink peonies (from Michaels) and peach peonies (from Ikea) to work with but so many other shades would work here too! I’m thinking classic red or white with red sticker hearts, or even all pink flowers and stickers.
