How I Organize My Baby’s Clothes

How I Organize My Baby’s Clothes

How I Organize My Baby’s Clothes

I have a beautiful 4 month old daughter. She is our bundle of joy.

But, our bundle of joy has arrived with a ton of stuff!

All of this “stuff” was made to melt mommy and daddy’s hearts with all the cuteness that baby items usually come with. But I had to get it all organized.

So like most expecting moms, I started preparing for our little girls arrival back when I was pregnant.

I did a lot of decluttering!

We live in a one bedroom apartment so I really had to go through all of our stuff and toss or donate as much as I could to open up some space for her.

Organization and storage for baby clothes in a one bedroom apartment.

I managed to make some space in my closet, in a Sterilite 3 drawer storage container I’ve had for years and two drawers in our bed frame.

The clothing she uses on a daily basis are in the drawers in our bed.

All her tops, bottoms, dresses, and sleep sacks are in the drawer to the right.

One row has all her tops.

Second row has all her pants and a few dresses.

The next two rows are her pj’s, sleep sacks, and a few rompers.

Her onesies are in the drawer to the left along with a few fitted sheets and some small bags I use when I don’t need to carry around a large diaper bag.

I like to fold her clothing in a way that I can clearly see everything. This makes it easier for me when I’m picking out her outfits.

I follow the same method for both her tops and bottoms.

First, I fold them in half right down the middle.

Then I fold them from bottom to top about 2 times.

All her outerwear, sweaters, outfits that are still too big for her to wear and items that are not easy to fold, like that pink tutu off to the right 🙂 are in my closet.

Her hats, socks, and hair accessories are all in the storage container with drawers.

Here’s a couple of links for similar containers to what I’m using. I couldn’t find them sold anywhere as a single container, it seems like they are sold by the double.  I have two of these so I guess I bought them as a set of two as well but like I said I’ve had them for years and don’t remember where I bought them.

Her hats are in small white plastic containers from the dollar tree. (I have the lighter hats separate from the thick warmer hats)

Then her socks and headbands are in larger pink containers that I’ve had for years, probably also from the dollar store.

The purple box behind the headbands are all her bibs.

As for shoes, I keep those in the gray basket behind her humidifier on the top of the storage container.
