Christmas Home Decor Lookbook
Christmas Home Decor Lookbook
Christmas time is so beautiful. The decorations, the lights, it’s all magical! And the tree that ends up in our living room every year…Christmas is the only time when we bring a ginormous tree into our living room and no one would ever say that’s the strangest thing they’ve ever seen 😉 What a truly special time this is.
Today I’m sharing with you Christmas home decorations that you can create using holiday decor items and then giving it your own special touch with basic crafting supplies like ribbon, rhinestones, faux greenery and more.
I’ve shared a few of what I call a lookbook here on the blog for the last couple of years now. The word lookbook may sound a little funny since this is not a true book but when I think of a lookbook, I think of a lot of inspirational photos with little writing. Basically something that someone can look through for ideas, inspiration or even just for fun. So that’s the idea that I worked with while making this blog post, something you can hopefully enjoy and be inspired by!
Ok, I hope you enjoy this collection of Christmas home decor!

Give your own special touch to a few bottle brush trees by adding a hand made bow as the tree topper.
Use a satin ribbon like the white one that I used here to make a simple shoelace bow.
Secure your bow to the tree either with a glue gun or these dots which is what I used by cutting them down to small pieces for my bow.
Use a round tray and paper dolly to display your mini Christmas trees.
Here’s another way to give mini trees your own special touch. Add a few handmade bows to your trees along with mini pom poms that you can find at dollar stores and/or craft stores.
To make these red and white bows I followed this tutorial which I loved because it gave me a double bow affect for some of the bows you see below.
I used sticky dots again to secure my bows to the trees but as for the white pom poms, those I just pressed into the trees and that was enough to keep them in place.
For this next one I used a rusty silver Christmas tree that I’ve had for years now and again added a handmade bow, placed my tree on a white tray and added mini white and iridescent ornaments (from the dollar store) to the tray that ended up giving this such a fun look.
For this red bow I used two separate ribbons. One wide wired ribbon and another non wired red ribbon.
I first used the wide red wired ribbon to make my bow. Cut a strand of ribbon and loop it to create an eight shape and then tie it in the center to create a bow. Use whatever you have on hand to tie the center of your bow, a piece of string, twisty ties which is what I used, or even twine would work. Then to cover that tied area, I used a small piece of my non wired red ribbon. Wrap it around your tied area and then glue it around the back of the bow.
Once my bow was ready, I cut a long strand of my non wired ribbon and tied that to the top of the tree to create the tail of my bow, as you can see below.
Once that’s done you can glue on your bow. I used sticky dots to attach my bow but hot glue would also work.
I added about 20 mini ornaments but you can also use just one large ornament on your tray, or look for ornaments with different textures like fabric or super glittery ornaments.
I found these beautiful trees that light up to multiple colors at the Dollar Tree and decided to make another table centerpiece with them.
I combined them with a couple of paper dollies on a rectangular tray and added a red bow with pom poms and a couple of twigs that I cut off of our artificial tree. We’ve had our tree for years so I didn’t mind cutting off a couple of small branches but I made sure to take it off of a section that wouldn’t be noticeable.
Give your nativity a bit of sparkle like I did here by adding some silver glitter with small amounts of glue and finish with a ribbon on top.
If this bow is to simple for your liking you can add faux flowers, berries, or greenery to your bow to make a more dramatic bow. Red poinsettias would be a lovely alternative if your nativity is large enough!
Silver is one of my favorite colors for Christmas!
This little tree that I picked up at Target a few years ago really doesn’t need much to decorate it. All I did this year was add a silver beaded chain and a white poinsettia and was done.
Sometimes I like to keep out seasonal decorations longer than needed, not that we need seasonal decor but gosh they are so fun to look at 🙂 I loved my little pear and white bow from fall as well as a vase filled with corn so I decided to leave them out throughout the holidays just to enjoy a bit longer.
I shared this simple arrangement with the large white flower about a month ago in this post and ended up placing it on my kitchen countertop along with a few more Christmas decorations.
A burlap bow glued onto silver snow flakes that I’ve had for a couple of years now to use in place of a wreath.
As you can see my bow has red and white berries along the back of it but if you look closely the white berries are actually mini pom poms, the same pom poms I used above for my mini green trees. I really wanted to use white berries in this bow but didn’t have any so I went ahead and took a few stems from faux flowers, removed the flowers and then hot glued my pom poms on to make my “faux berries.”
Add stickers and pearl adhesives to ornaments to make them your own.
DIY popsicle stick ornament.
Hot glue your popsicle sticks to form a snowflake, then hot glue sequences on and twine to hang onto your tree. I picked pink sequences for my snowflake but there are so many more options on Pinterest, which is where I found the idea for this.
(My daughter made one with rhinestones and that looked beautiful as well)
Hope you enjoyed this Christmas home decorations lookbook!
Sending happy, safe, and healthy vibes your way. May God bless you and your family today and every beautiful day to come!
