DIY Foam Rose Valentine’s Day Wreath
DIY Foam Rose Valentine’s Day Wreath
Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a wreath that I recently made for Valentine’s Day using pink foam roses. I’ve never used foam flowers of any kind for crafting but I saw these at my dollar store when I was looking through the craft section and thought their beautiful pink color was so pretty so I grabbed a couple of bags. I was actually looking for faux flowers to make a Valentine’s wreath but couldn’t find anything that I thought would work so I thought why not give these foam roses a try in place of faux flowers.
I will say, this was a fairly easy craft to do but a bit time consuming. Gluing on the roses one by one did take some patience on my part but the end result was worth it! So you may want to keep that in mind if you try this DIY at home as well as the size of your wreath because of course, the larger the wreath the more foam roses you will have to glue on.
Let’s get to it!
DIY Foam Rose Valentine’s Day Wreath
I started my wreath by making a frame for it out of poster board but you can also use a heart shaped wire frame or even a wooden base instead.
I shared a step by step tutorial here where I made a sturdier version of this frame, but for this wreath I am keeping it very simple…
I traced a heart onto my poster board, using a a large red paper heart that I already had in my crafting collection but you can free style this if you are good at drawing hearts…

Then I cut my heart out, added some twine for hanging (that you can see below) and now I’m ready to start gluing on my foam roses.

Now, I had originally wanted to fill the entire heart with my roses but unfortunately it turned out that I didn’t have enough roses! I measured everything before starting and must have miscounted somewhere (face/palm moment) so if you try this DIY out for yourself please make note to buy plenty of foam roses, unlike me 🙂
I picked up two bags of roses which had about eighteen in each bag and my heart measures 9 by 10 inches so I would say about eighty foam roses, give or take, would have been enough to fill the entire heart.

Since I didn’t have enough roses, I went ahead and cut out the center of my frame with both a scissor and crafting knife and then finished gluing on my roses with hot glue. As I mentioned earlier, this was overall an easy craft to do aside from being time consuming when it came to hot gluing on all the roses. So patience, patience, patience (and maybe a snack) is what it will take while you sit and glue on your flowers.
After that, I made a bow with white ribbon, hot glued that on and added a few small decorative hearts in the middle of that bow.

The last step before finishing my wreath was filling in a few areas where my white frame was showing through.
To do this, I took a pink faux flower and cut up the petals into small pieces to fill in any area where I could see the white frame.

And now I have a beautiful pink rose wreath perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Sending happy, safe, and healthy vibes your way. May God bless you and your family today and every beautiful day to come!
