DIY Pink Faux Floral Valentine’s Day Centerpiece
DIY Pink Faux Floral Valentine’s Day Centerpiece
I feel as if Valentine’s Day has become such a cute and fun holiday, not that it’s considered a holiday, but you know… it’s a special day many of us like to celebrate every year. There’s adorable hearts everywhere, pretty shades of pink and red, xoxo messages everywhere, cute stuffed animals. It’s all really cute.
Today I’m sharing a pink floral arrangement great for Valentine’s Day. It probably falls under that fun Valentine’s Day vibe I’m talking about with its red and white gingham ribbon and a bubblegum pink shade of flowers. I brought it together with things I already had on hand and tried to keep it simple as I do with many of my decoration’s.
Ok, let’s get started….
DIY Pink Faux Floral Valentine’s Day Centerpiece
I started with:
an old coffee container, lace burlap, tape and scissors.
First, I removed the label from my container.
I usually remove labels by soaking jars in hot soapy water, or sometimes I use this adhesive remover. It’s a pain using it though because I find that I really have to rub the label adhesive a lot to get it all off so hot soapy water is my usual label removing method.
FYI: If you don’t like fighting with that sticky residue that is sometimes left behind when removing labels, consider placing your arrangement in an area where the sticky side is facing a wall.
That adhesive is always such a pain to remove!

To wrap my ribbon onto the container I decided to use super hold scotch tape. This is because I wanted something with a little stronger hold than regular tape, but you can also use a hot glue gun.
What’s nice about using tape is that it’s easier to remove once you’re done decorating with your arrangement. But a hot glue gun will have a stronger hold.
I used 3 stripes of tape to hold down one end of the ribbon…

and then I ended up “ looping” a couple of pieces of tape for the second end of ribbon and placing them underneath the ribbon so that the tape wouldn’t show.
Basically, creating a little tube with my pieces of tape….hope that makes sense 🙂

To keep my flowers in place I needed to make a tape grid that I created with regular tape (not super hold)
I cut my stripes of tape in half so that they wouldn’t be too wide (you can also use clear floral tape if you prefer)
Normally I don’t bother using a grid, but this time around my flowers just wouldn’t stay in place.
Luckily this really made all the difference.

For my flowers, I used seven pink faux florals.
I started adding in my flowers, in no particular order and continued moving them around until the bouquet looked good.

It wasn’t easy getting the flowers to look the way I was hoping they would (one cohesive pink bunch) but one thing that really helped was to fluff out all of the flower petals.
Doing that made the flowers appear much larger and fill in the gaps better.

My container needed something else aside from the lacey burlap so I ended up collecting a few heart shaped rhinestones and stickers from my craft supply and played around with them, checking which would work best with the burlap.

And here’s what I decided to use…
A couple of pink and red felt stickers right in the center of my old coffee container and then finishing off with red and white gingham ribbon that I love and use all the time.

And just like that my love for coffee and flowers come together. I never thought I would see the day.

Sending happy, safe, and healthy vibes your way. May God bless you and your family today and every beautiful day to come!
