DIY Blue and Pink Wreath – Spring to Summer

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a spring wreath that can easily transition into the upcoming summer days.

I’m kind of at that time of year where I’m still enjoying spring, but I’m starting to also think about summer and all the pretty things that come with that warm, super sunny season.

Are you still working on spring decorations? Have you moved on to summer yet? Well, either way I hope this spring to summer wreath inspires you and gets those creative wheels rolling in your head as you come up with your own spring (and/or) summer decor projects!

Let’s get to it!

DIY Blue and Pink Wreath – Spring to Summer

The main supplies that I will be using for my wreath are:

A styrofoam wreath base

Blue tulle that I’ve had for years

Burlap ribbon from the Dollar Tree

An old kitchen towel

Pink faux flowers that I pulled off of a garland I picked up at my local dollar store

Greenery that I’ve also had forever

I started by cutting my kitchen towel into three long pieces.

Once I cut my fabric, I started wrapping each piece around my styrofoam wreath frame and hot glued the fabric onto the frame as I went.

Now I’m taking my blue tulle and burlap ribbon to make a simple bow.

First I cut a long strand of the tulle and then a couple of strands of the burlap.

(By this point I stopped working on my wreath and started up again later that evening, hence why the background is different for the next two photos 🙂

For my bow, I layered the tulle and longest piece of burlap together and secured them with a small piece of pipe cleaner.

Then I wrapped the shortest piece of burlap around the pipe cleaner and secured it in place. I used sticky dots to keep it in place but you can also use hot glue for this.

Now I’m taking a wire cutter to cut my bunch of greenery into smaller pieces.

So it may look like everything is hot glued in place in the next photo but nothing is actually glued on yet.

I wanted to get a good idea where to put my flowers and bow so I mapped everything out first, placing my greenery, bow and pink flowers on the base and moving them around to get them to look how I wanted before actually gluing them on.

Once I knew where I wanted my bow and flowers, I took a picture with my phone and used that as my guide once I took everything off to start hot gluing.

I started by hot gluing the greenery first, then I hot glued on my bow over the greenery and lastly I hot glued all the pink flowers.

To hang my wreath I took a long piece of my blue tulle, tied it on either side of the top of the wreath…

And this wreath is done!

Sending happy, safe, and healthy vibes your way. May God bless you and your family today and every beautiful day to come!

Coral Pink Summer Wreath DIY

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a summer wreath DIY that I’ve been working on for about a month now. I started working on it after a trip to the Dollar Tree where I found a bouquet of coral pink flowers that I thought were so pretty. One bunch of course was not enough for a wreath so I mixed them with a few more faux flowers and greenery that I had at home and decided to use a DIY poster board frame as the base for my wreath. (You can see the full tutorial for that base here if you’d like but I also added a simple description down below.)

Summer time is so fun and there’s so many beautiful options for decorating. There’s nautical decor, beach inspired decorations, patriotic for July 4th and when I think of summer I always think of a lot of colors. Usually bright, vibrant colors!

For this project coral pink is the summer color star of the show. It’s not a super bright summer color that usually comes to mind for me like maybe a hot pink or sunny yellow but it’s a beautiful color that I really love either way. I actually wasn’t even sure if coral pink could be considered a summer color so I figured why not look up classic summer colors and sure enough, it is! Alongside colors like turquoise, blues and surprisingly even warm browns, it’s a color that could absolutely be used in different shades during the summertime, according to google that is 😉

Ok guys, I hope you enjoy this summer DIY coral pink wreath.

Coral Pink Summer Wreath DIY

For the base of my wreath I’m using a poster board base that I made and shared here a few months ago.

It’s very simple. Basically just cut out your circle, then cut out the center and lastly give it some support with packing tape and popsicle sticks.

You can skip this step and use a store bought wreath frame if you prefer since they are so affordable but I’ve been trying to make use of a bunch of poster boards that I have at home.

(FYI: I’ve been working on this wreath over a number of different days so the pictures will have different backgrounds depending on where I was working. Just in case you were wondering)

As for my flowers and greenery…

My coral pink flowers came from the Dollar Tree and I had a vine of faux eucalyptus leaves that I found on Amazon a few years ago. Unfortunately the vine is no longer available but I linked it anyway If you’d like to compare with other similar items.

Then I picked up these small pink roses from my local dollar store.

And lastly I chose a few white faux flowers that I had in my collection of flowers.

As you can see, I’m only using the white flowers, no leaves or stem. I did however make use of the greenery on my small roses as you will see below.

If you read through my blog you may already know that I don’t like using a glue gun whenever possible but this time around I couldn’t avoid it. The glue gun really was my best option for this project. Boohoo 🙂

Once my nifty poster board base was ready I started hot gluing on my eucalyptus leaves. Before hot gluing my leaves I ended up cutting them down with a wire cutter so that I can evenly distribute them and fill in gaps so that the white base doesn’t show through.

I also made sure that my leaves were covering the base along the sides. As for the packing tape in the picture below, that’s what I was using to wrap the frame so that it’s nice and sturdy.

As for my flowers, I started hot gluing my Dollar Tree flowers first by placing them off to one side of the wreath and all bunched up together.

I followed that by gluing on my largest white flower under those coral pink florals and then I scattered in my other smaller flowers.

I also cut off the greenery that came with the small roses and scattered those through out the flowers but I focused on placing them around the outer side of the wreath.

FYI: Sometimes I have a hard time hot gluing faux flowers down because they don’t have a flat bottom but this time around I just went ahead and used much more glue then I normally would have all around the bottom of my flowers and that really helped. Basically, don’t be cheap with your glue like I was.

Because of the type of base that I’m using for my wreath, it is laying very flat against the wall.

If you think that you may not like that then try using a wire frame or a foam base wrapped with fabric (color of your choice) so that the foam doesn’t show through.

Lastly, how to hang our wreath that in case you didn’t notice, is kind of heavier on one side 🙂

Because all of the flowers are off to one side my wreath would have drooped down that side if I wasn’t mindful as for how I hung it up so what I ended up doing was punching two holes in the base and tying a short piece of ribbon to it.

The trick here is to use a short piece of ribbon!

That way, your wreath doesn’t have any slack to slide down the side easily. Keep in mind because I am using a very short piece of ribbon, it will not show once it’s up on the door so you can really use any string here without worrying if it does or does not match.

And there you have it. A summer wreath with coral pink and white flowers…Eucalyptus leaves…Works for me! Hope you like it too.

Simple DIY Fall Wreath

Do you ever look at something that is normally considered junk and wonder, what can I do with that?

I do that all the time! Empty bottles, cans, shoe boxes. I always try to repurpose those items.

So when I managed to turn a shower cap ring (the plastic rings that sometimes come in a new shower cap) into a wreath I was oh so happy!

Simple DIY Fall Wreath

For my wreath I’m using the plastic ring that sometimes comes in a new shower cap. Usually shower caps that you find at dollar stores have them.

FYI: These rings are very light so they won’t work for a wreath with any heavy items added to it.

I’ll give you a moment to laugh at how funny (and cute) us girls can look in a shower cap 😉

I started my wreath by wrapping twine around the ring and adding some hot glue along a few areas.

Then I added some faux leaves with hot glue and some twine to make sure they stay in place.

Next I hot glued some orange faux berries. If you notice, I added a large amount of hot glue, giving the area some height. This is because I will be adding a simple bow in the next step and this helps keep it from looking too sunken in.

(Black and white checkered ribbon)

After adding my bow I decided my wreath needed a little more color so I hot glued a few yellow/lime berries.

and that’s it!

Ok friends, that’s it for this one…
