DIY Poster Board Wreath Frame
DIY Poster Board Wreath Frame
Hello friends! Today I’m sharing an easy DIY wreath frame using a white poster board.
I recently wanted to make a fall wreath for our front door and decided to look for an old wreath around my home with a nice frame that I could repurpose for my new wreath but unfortunately I couldn’t find one that I was willing to take apart. So I decided to make my own frame with things I already had.
Yes I know I know. I could have just picked something up at the dollar store and called it a day but I have so many supplies at home that I really wanted to make use of and see what I could come up with. Yay for saving $10 (or more)…because I could never go to the dollar store and just buy one thing. Hehe…
So if you are like me and love using what you have at home whenever possible then this may be a good DIY for you.
Now, I’m using a white poster board because I have tons of these at home but I’m sure you can probably use cardboard instead or maybe even cardstock would work for a lighter weight version.
Ok let’s get started!
DIY Poster Board Wreath Frame
Supplies:
White poster board
Popsicle sticks
Glue, pencil and scissors
Packing tape, or any wide tape
Hole puncher and twine or ribbon
(Optional: an old wreath for tracing)

I started by drawing a circle to form my wreath but drawing circles is not easy for me so I used an old wreath to trace onto my poster board.
If you are good about drawing circles then you can probably skip this step and just draw the circle to your desired size.

I lightly traced around the outside and inside of my wreath.

Then I cut out my circle, both inside and out.
For the middle circle, I poked my scissor through to cut it out but I’d recommend using a crafting knife instead because otherwise you may stick your finger doing it my way, like I did (face/palm moment)

So I was going to stop there but I was worried that my frame wouldn’t be sturdy enough so I ended up gluing some popsicle sticks onto the back to give it more support.

And then I also ended up wrapping the front and back with packing tape.
I know, it looks a little messy, and I’m probably overdoing it with the tape but it worked out pretty good.
I’m using brown tape because that’s all I had at home but you can also find this tape in clear. Usually dollar stores will have them for a reasonable price or you can also check hardware stores.
(Only have duct tape? Give it a try for an even sturdier wreath frame!)
Here’s the front all taped up…

and the back…

Lastly I used my hole puncher and some twine to give my wreath frame a way to hang once I’m done decorating it.

That’s it!
I’m hoping to soon share the fall wreath that lead me to making this DIY wreath frame but for now I hope you enjoyed this and give it a try next time your in a pinch for a wreath frame!
Sending happy, safe, and healthy vibes your way. May God bless you and your family today and every beautiful day to come!
