Small Red and White Christmas Arrangement

The holidays are here along with all its beauty!

Let me share with you a small red and white arrangement that I recently put together.

You can place it on an end table, nightstand or any other area in your home that’s asking for some holiday cheer!

Most of the items that I am using are things that I already had but you can substitute any of these items with things you may already have at home or similar items at craft stores and your local dollar store.

Small Red and White Christmas Arrangement

Supplies:

A few white faux flowers, all from my local dollar store and eucalyptus leaves from Walmart.

A few decorative Christmas picks…

(FYI: My candy cane pick was not long enough for my arrangement so I just taped on a straw to get the length that I needed)

White polka dot ribbon from the Dollar Tree and red ribbon from the Container Store (both purchased a couple of years ago).

One large rhinestone, small red rhinestones, and strips of teeny tiny rhinestones 🙂 all from the dollar store.

As for my container, I’ll be using a recycled can (so fancy)

Before getting started, I wanted to see how my large white flower would look with some glitter so I decided to go for it and added some silver and iridescent white glitter by “painting” on some inexpensive glue and then sprinkling on my glitter little by little. This did take a few coats to get it to look the way I wanted and it was a little time consuming but the results were beautiful.

For the can, I wrapped both of my ribbons, the red over the white polka dot ribbon and secured them around the back. I used these dots to attach my ribbon but hot glue would work here too.

I also added all of my rhinestones, as you see below.

The small rhinestone strips and large rhinestone are all self adhesive so those were pretty easy to attach but the small red stones are not adhesive (no sticky backing) so I used a toothpick and hot glue to carefully attach them all one by one (my poor fingers) This was a tricky step because aside from trying to not burn my fingers I also had to kind of map them out first before gluing them on so that they were evenly spaced out. It took some patience as well as being ok with it not being perfect but at the end I was happy with the way it came out.

FYI: I didn’t add my rhinestones until after photographing the way I placed my flowers, in case you notice that they are missing in the next step 🙂

I placed my large white flower off to one side and the smaller white flowers all off to the other side…

Then I added in my leaves behind the smaller white flowers and the rest of the picks mixed into the smaller white flowers.

Move your flowers around if needed and that is it.

Red and White Pom Pom Christmas Garland

They’re round, fuzzy, and oh so tiny.

They must be related to that well-known nail polish remover, the cotton ball.

And for some reason, the creator of this cute little fuzzball decided they must resemble a cheerleader’s number one accessory…

They’re called Pom Poms!

And you know what?

These little guys seem to be working overtime for the holidays. I’ve seen them in use for so many different things…

Wreaths, garlands, vase fillers, and even as ribbon to wrap gifts.

So when I saw them at my Dollar Store, I had to grab them.

I decided I would use my Pom Poms to make a garland for the holidays and it ended up being so easy to make.

ok let’s jump right in and get this easy red and white Christmas garland done and up for the holidays!

Here we go…

Here’s what I used:

Red and white Pom Poms

These came in two separate bags (from the Dollar Store) each containing 80 Pom Poms.

Fishing Line

I used fishing line for a transparent look (and I had some at home that I wanted to make use of) but you can also use white or red thread. I’ve also seen these on ribbon.

Sewing Needle

Scissor

Here’s what I did:

First I ran my thread through the needle eye and tied a knot to keep it in place.

Then I started adding my Pom Poms to the fishing wire with the needle.

I kept adding Pom Poms, following the pattern below, two red Pom Poms, one white Pom Pom, and so on.

Alternating red and white would look great too!

Once I had my desired length I simply cut the string off (no knotting or anything special needed at the end of the string)…

and on to my living room blinds they went!

To keep them up on the blinds I simply tucked a few of the Pom Poms behind the blinds (at the very top of my blinds) and so far they are holding up with no problem.

I love shopping for Christmas decorations. But sometimes…

I just wanna decorate with stuff I already have at home.

It’s faster than taking a trip to the store, cheaper, and it’s always nice to make use of what I already have on hand.

So I decided to share two simple and easy ways to decorate for Christmas with items you probably already have at home!

Here we go…

How to Decorate for Christmas With Items You May Already Have

First, you can use a large serving bowl as a base to create a beautiful centerpiece:

A dishtowel with festive colors, like this one, works great under any centerpiece (or use a scarf as a runner, a pillowcase neatly folded down, or a fabric napkin):

Make use of any ornaments and decorations that are not being used for the tree to create your beautiful centerpiece:

(In case your wondering, yes that’s me taking the photo in the large silver balls in the center. Lol! ? I couldn’t figure out where to position myself to avoid that)

Put it all together to form your centerpiece:

Next, repurpose a throw or blanket as a tree skirt:
